"Dear Mary (Tracing Double Other)" takes its starting point in the life and works of the Danish photographer Mary Willumsen (1884–1961). In the early part of the last century, Mary Willumsen photographed nude and semi-nude women and worked anonymously on the fringes of the pornography laws of the time.
Through live performance, a camera obscura audio installation, and pinhole photography, Nanna Lysholt Hansen reimagines the story of Mary Willumsen, placing her somewhere between the past, present, and future, where fact and fiction merge.
The forest cabin, featuring hand-carved text fragments, functions as a pinhole camera and a photo lab. On special occasions, visitors can enter the forest cabin to experience the camera obscura and a site-specific text-based sound installation.
