About Deep Forest Art Land

Deep Forest Art Land is a forest where contemporary art and nature come together in a living landscape in Central Jutland.

Since 2010, Danish and international artists have created site-specific works that engage in a dialogue with the forest, the landscape, and the people who visit the site. The artworks are experienced on foot along the forest trail, where nature’s changing light, seasons, and moods become part of the experience.

Deep Forest Art Land is open year-round with a suggested donation for admission and offers art experiences, educational programs, events, and development projects that bring together art, nature, and learning.

Announcements and Press Kit

THE RUINS

PRESS KIT. *Ruinerne* is a newly written, interdisciplinary performance musical by performance artist Filip Vest and choreographer Kai Merke. The show will premiere on Friday, July 24, 2026, at *Dybet*—a natural ravine in the forest, Deep Forest Art Land—and will be performed again on Saturday, July 25.

New Possibilities in Art and Nature

PRESS RELEASE. More than 50,000 people visit Deep Forest Art Land, south of Herning, every year, and the site will soon offer even more exciting experiences thanks to a grant of 57 million kr. from 11 Danish foundations.
