Eat Local
If you'd like to buy food for your trip, we recommend supporting the local Min Købmand in Skarrild, where you can buy homemade sandwiches and other treats for your picnic basket.
If you want to end your trip on a high note, we highly recommend a visit to Unyttigt in Arnborg, where you can enjoy a delicious ice cream and let the day’s experiences sink in.
If you'd like to eat out in the local area, we recommend, among other places, Skarrildhus and Sdr. Omme Kro.
The Forest Snake
Climb, crawl, and explore
In Nordskoven, you'll find the Forest Snake —a large work of art created by Monstrum.
The artwork is located in the forest’s old marl pit and invites both children and adults to explore the landscape using their bodies. Here, visitors are welcome to climb, crawl, balance, and explore.
For many families, Skovsnogen becomes a natural gathering place during their visit—and a place they want to return to again and again.
Recommended game for the whole family: The King's Heir.
Shelters and Accommodations
Stay Overnight in the Forest • Book in Advance
If you'd like to experience the forest in a different way, you can spend the night in the shelter at Deep Forest Art Land Production by John Kørner.
The shelter can accommodate 2 adults. If there are more of you, a tent may be an option by arrangement.
It costs 100 kr. per night, including firewood and water.
