EXHIBITION: HABIbank – Pernille Emilia Kjær at Lily Pad
Artist Pernille Emilia Kjær explores the concept of a fictional bank located in the multipurpose restroom. The work depicts a future in which small pieces of local nature are treated as assets—not necessarily as money, but as something that can be saved, cared for, and given meaning.
The exhibition takes place at Lily Pad—the forest’s small exhibition space located in a composting toilet, initiated by artist Laura Hjort. Here, the forest’s seeds and plants encounter the banking world’s boxes, signs, and ATMs—amidst the toilet, woodwork, and forest floor.
It’s funny, strange, and serious all at once. After all, what’s actually worth the most: a coin, a seed, or the life that can grow from it?
Opening: August 15, 2026, as part of the topping-out ceremony at Deep Forest Art Land.
