An Evening in the Woods

As the light slowly changes, the forest takes on a new character. For “Night in Nature,” Deep Forest Art Land invites you to a shared experience where dance, nature, and community come together.

The evening begins with the dance performance *Dance Under the Open Sky 2026*, in which Holstebro Theater’s dance company uses the forest as the setting for a poetic performance. Afterward, we’ll continue with a twilight walk through the area, before rounding out the evening with a bonfire, snacks, and conversation in the Gothic Quarter.

When Nature Becomes the Stage

For several seasons now, Holstebro Theater’s dance company has delighted audiences with its outdoor dance performances along the west coast of Jutland. This year, the company’s five dancers are exploring forests and meadows across the country, allowing nature to become an active participant in the performance.

Using their imagination as a starting point, the dancers create poetic images and abstract narratives among the trees, in the clearings, and among the works of art. The audience gets up close to the dancers and experiences modern dance in a unique setting where nature, art, and movement blend together.

The performance lasts about 30 minutes and is suitable for both adults and children ages 7 and up.

After the performance, we’ll take a short twilight walk through the area before gathering in the Gothic Quarter. There, we’ll light a bonfire, prepare delicious snacks over the embers, and serve hot and cold drinks as darkness falls.

What is night in nature?

"Night in Nature" is a nationwide event that invites people across the country every year to experience nature in new ways as the day draws to a close and darkness falls.

At Deep Forest Art Land, we celebrate “Night in Nature” with an evening where dancing, a twilight walk, and gathering around the campfire set the stage for a shared experience in the forest.
