The Gothic Quarter
The Gothic Arcade is both a work of architecture and a public space.
The arcade can provide shelter for large groups and serves as a natural gathering place in the area. Over time, rainwater from the roof will be channeled to a crystal fountain, where water, minerals, and time will gradually transform the artwork.
The Artist
René Schmidt
René Schmidt is a Danish visual artist based in Viborg. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. Together with Søren Taaning, René Schmidt was one of the founders of Deep Forest Art Land, and today he and Taaning are part of the venue’s artistic leadership.
