"Double Down" consists of a collection of intertwined tubular glass elements, supported by a striking geometric and circular iron structure that appears to hold the glass aloft, creating a sense of levitation.

The shape and layered composition of the glass evoke the image of a forest in and of itself, with transparent tree trunks or branches, just as the artwork’s placement and framing reflect the forest’s characteristics, lines, and shapes.

The glass is in a constant state of change, influenced by shifting light conditions, seasonal variations, and weather conditions. Over time, it becomes a microcosm of the forest, capturing elements such as dew, spruce shoots, water, and frost, and eventually providing a breeding ground for algae, fungi, rust, and cracks in the glass. The artwork simultaneously amplifies, challenges, and mimics various natural elements, following the forest’s cycle of decay and renewal, and expressing both remarkable strength and fragility.
