Mette Vangsgaard says of the work: "My approach to collage as a medium is eclectic and material-fetishistic. I collect, reuse, and reconstruct materials into new visual contexts, turning them upside down with the aim of evoking a fresh perspective on the things that surround us. For example, I use clippings from different eras to transplant history into a contemporary context. In [Deep Forest Art Land], I have ‘transplanted’ a collage into the forest in the form of a large billboard that you encounter on your way through the woods. The work is about how we choose to spend our free time and what the spaces look like where we spend our free time; outside lies the forest.”
