Welcome to your expedition!
We are really looking forward to welcoming you to Deep Forest Art Land.
On this page, you’ll find everything you need for your visit—including practical information and resources for activities before andafteryour trip to the forest.
We recommend that all adults planning to attend the event review this page before their visit.
Practical Information for Visits by the Culture Bus
-
The Culture Bus will drop you off at the parking lot at Deep Forest Art Land. We’ll meet you there and welcome you before we head out into the forest together.
-
We'll walk through the forest throughout the day, following the trails between the artworks.
The total route through Deep Forest Art Land is just under 5 km. On a Kulturbus expedition, we typically walk about 3–3.5 km.
-
There are two restrooms along the route—one at the parking lot and one halfway along the route, near the Gothic Quarter.
-
We'll be walking around the forest throughout the day, so be sure to bring your bags and backpacks along.
We have two pull-along carts that can be used for backpacks and bags. If you’d like to borrow them, please email Henriette@deepforestartland.dk at least one week before your visit—feel free to write “Kulturbussen” in the subject line.
-
We'll be out all day. So the kids will need:
- Dress for the weather—preferably in layers.
- Clothes and shoes that can get dirty.
- Shoes that can handle mud and moisture.
- Packed lunch.
- Filled water bottle.
There is no access to drinking water in the forest.
-
As in other forested areas, ticks may be present. It’s therefore a good idea to check your children for ticks after your visit.
-
The Culture Bus visit will take place outdoors. If the weather is deemed unsafe—for example, in the event of a severe thunderstorm—we will contact you no later than 8:15 a.m. on the day of the event.
-
The photo approval will be sent to you along with the information about the visit.
Photos are used to document the artistic processes with the children and may be included in grant applications as well as in our social media posts and on our website.
Thank you for your help in collecting the necessary consents.
-
Please note that cell service is not very good in the forest.
Choose your course
The Culture Bus program is tailored to different age groups. Find the program that suits your group, and then select BEFOREor AFTER.
The pre-activity prepares the children or students for their encounter with the forest and art. The post-activity reflects on the experience and provides an opportunity to continue working on what you have explored and experienced together.
Preschools - The Forest and Its Creatures

In this follow-up activity, the children will revisit their experience through the leaf they brought back from the forest. Together, you’ll take a closer look, examine its shape, details, and colors—and perhaps discover something you didn’t notice the first time.
