YOUNG CONTEMPORARY ART continues with a new group of artists in 2025–2027.
In 2023, we launched the project by selecting a group of four recent art school graduates, each to work on their own project in the forest, which would evolve over the course of two years. Through an open call, we have once again selected four artists, this time graduates of art academies from the classes of 2022–2025. Over the next two years, they will explore the forest and each develop their own work inspired by it, and you can follow the process both in the forest and online!
Two trails in the forest
The new cohort is divided into two tracks. Track 1 consists of works that unfold over time and may include, for example, performances, art that evolves on-site, or interactive experiments. In this track, we welcome artists Hannah Amalie Nielsen and Stella Beling. Track 2 will create site-specific works that interact with the landscape at a specific location along the 4.5 km route through the forest. The two artists in Track 2 are Kaja Lahoda and Frederik Exner.
Through various events over the next two years, the artists will each take up a spot in the forest, and visitors will be able to follow their progress on a sign along the trail. Each artist has their own unique process; some will conduct material research and create prototypes in the forest during this period, while others will launch initiatives that engage you, the audience.
Stay tuned here on our website, or on our Instagram and Facebook, where we’ll be sharing updates on our progress, events, and when you can meet the artists in the forest.
The project is supported by the Obel Family Foundation and the Louis-Hansen Foundation.
