Stella Beling
Stella Beling is a visual artist who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts in 2025. She is part of Young Contemporary Art 2.0 – Track 1: Experimental, Situation-Specific Practice, in which artists develop site-specific and process-oriented works. Beling has exhibited in Denmark, Sweden, and Germany, including at Augustiana Kunstpark and Kunsthal. Her practice revolves around sculpture, fables, and transformations, in which human and animal traits merge into poetic, symbol-laden figures.
An experimental practice in the forest
Stella Beling creates sculptures using concrete and rebar, which she shapes into creatures with both human and animal traits. The figures are inspired by fables, metaphors, and stories of transformation, and they invite reflection on states of mind, life transitions, and difficult emotions.
In Deep Forest Art Land, Beling explores new casting methods in which cavities in the ground serve as molds. Inspired by the Polish artist Władysław Hasior, she experiments with allowing nature to become an active part of the creative process. The result is organic, semi-abstract sculptures with forms that emerge from the interplay between materials, landscape, and chance.
The project is being developed on an ongoing basis in the forest, where visitors can periodically follow the work and experience the process as the artworks take shape.
