Cisse Bomholt, Elisabeth Gellein

Spacegirls is an architecture and art practice consisting of Cisse Bomholt Christiansen (b. 1989) and Elisabeth Gellein (b. 1990). They are both architects who graduated from the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 2016.
Their work is based on materials-oriented basic research that, through interdisciplinary collaborations and experiments with aesthetic expression, seeks to push the boundaries of the field of architecture.
Spacegirls always work in a site-specific and community-oriented manner, with a particular focus on process and materiality. In collaboration with the construction industry, artists, researchers, and writers, they aim to take a critical look at the role of the architect in the contemporary world and explore a more sensitive approach to building and thinking about architecture.
