Jes Brinch is a Danish installation artist based in Malmö. He is best known for his socially provocative artworks, which, with an aggressive and anti-authoritarian attitude, challenge the boundaries of art and art institutions in general. Two examples are the projects *Burn Out. Brændt børnehave* and *Burn Out. Parking, both from 1994, which Brinch created in collaboration with Henrik Plenge Jakobsen. The two artists received significant media attention when they, respectively, set fire to an installation featuring kindergarten furnishings and exhibited 18 wrecked cars, a camper, and an overturned HT bus at Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen.
