Maj Kjærsig

Maj Kjærsig graduated from the Funen Art Academy in 2016, having participated in an exchange program with the artist collective Vinyl Terror & Horror and Bjørn Melhus in Berlin. In addition, she has a musical background as a pianist and singer, which she actively incorporates into her work as a visual artist. Maj works with installation and performance art using ceramics and sound. In her work, she explores questions about human connections to one another, the earth’s crust, tectonics, and the resonance that surrounds us. Maj does not work exclusively in a conceptual manner with her materials, but rather in an exploratory and experimental way to develop new forms of experimental understanding of materials, where the hard and the soft, the material (form) and the immaterial (sound, poetry, and emotion) collide.
